YoWo Music is a not-for-profit organisation is paving the way for gender equity in the future generations of Australian musicians and is constantly furthering new program to provide aspiring musicians the opportunity to grow their skills, knowledge and confidence.

Selene has worked as YoWo's Program Manager for 2 years (2022-2024), and thoroughly enjoyed growing and developing the existing band program to empower female and gender-diverse youth and provide a safe space to nurture their love of music.

Circus Oz

Selene spent two seasons working full-time as a keyboardist, synthesist, saxophonist, vocalist, composer and tap dancer with renowned performing arts company, Circus Oz.

She performed in Precarious (2019) and Aurora (2019 - 2020) and during this time toured to
most of Australia, including a cherished memory touring and facilitating workshops in remote
Indigenous communities on Tiwi Islands.

Selene has been building her teaching practice over the last 11 years and offers lessons in piano, saxophone, voice, improvisation and music theory.
She has extensive experience teaching AMEB and VCE syllabi, and can teach wide variety of musical styles, but her particular areas of specialisation is contemporary music, harmony and improvisation. Her teaching is of the philosophy that no student should walk away with unanswered questions and tailors every lesson to each student's individual learning style.
Selene's lessons are inspiring, energetic and knowledgeable, focusing on helping students understand the theory behind the music they play, so that this knowledge can then be used for creative output.

Over the last few years, Selene has been curating a collection of hand-selected, recycled, designer clothing pieces in impeccable condition and selling online and in markets. She believes in making a shift to slow fashion and making more mindful clothing purchases to ultimately save landfill.
